We will be traveling to this ancient city in Southern Hungary, close to the Croatian border. It was founded by the Romans and is known for its architectural landmarks. Pécs is the fifth largest city in Hungary, and is located on the slopes of the Mecsek mountains. While there is a lot of history that happened here, today we will be focusing more on the cultural highlights of the city, since Pécs is officially designated as the Cultural Capital of Hungary. (Budapest is the overall capital of Hungary.)
